Trough is an analog photography chemistry organizer that makes developing film at home safe and approachable for the average person

Trough was born out of an earlier concept, Darkroom Buddy, which accomplished a similar purpose but was more difficult to fabricate and less durable.
Both Trough and Darkroom Buddy work with an underlying "Regulator" system, which uses sensors and a microcontroller to keep track of development times, temperatures, and chemical exhaustion.
A custom acrylic lid and locking tab ensures that chemistry strored in Trough can only be accessed when developing film.
An integrated pump system allows users to effortlessly empty the reservoir, or use the water as a wash in between steps
Trough is built using standard cast acrylic around an off-the-shelf 1/2 long hotel pan, meaning that anyone with a laser cutter can build their own unit
Custom 3D printed parts, such as the print-in-place hinges on the lid, offer high-quality results at small scale production
