The Darkroom Buddy combines a sous vide, timer, chemical usage tracker, thermometer, and chemical storage bottles into an open-source device that can be built with simple hand tools for under $100

Fabrication

Wood was chosen as the primary material due to its cost and ease of access. Sealing is achieved with a chemical-resistant spar, while the interior is covered in FlexSeal rubber.

Features

An onboard Arduino assists the user by showing temperature and a timer, while automatically adjusting these settings to account for chemical exhaustion over time.

Rather than rely on expensive pumps, the device uses a passive system to dispense chemistry from bottles, at which point it can be returned through funnels on the top of the unit
